A POSTPARTUM SERVICE DESIGNED TO

unload the mental load

overwhelmed with the mental load?

I get it. On top of the postpartum recovery, the sleep deprivation, and the feedings, it can be a lot. And asking for help is…not easy. Or it’s a job in itself to delegate and to explain what to do and how to do it.

Whether you have family close or a supportive village, the mental load AKA the invisible labor to meal plan, to research childcare and activities, to book swim classes, to set up birthday parties, or to prepare and pack for a family trip is just PART of the job.

That’s where we come in. We accomplish the long list of to-dos so you can focus on whatever it is you want and truly prioritize yourself and your mental health.

Want to feel more joy? Want to shower peacefully? Want to try that workout video? Want a moment to breathe?

why is it so hard to delegate the mental load?

  • Someone often doesn’t fully comprehend all the steps it takes to accomplish the task itself

  • Hard to trust that someone will be able to execute it properly

  • You might not want to burden your extended family and friends

  • Your partner is not available physically or mentally

  • Cultural or societal conditioning enabling the female partner to carry the weight and responsibilities of mental load

  • Pressure to be seen as extremely productive

  • Hyper-independence from childhood trauma

  • You do not have the privilege of a village

but how?

In the United States, mothers are expected to be the leader in parenthood while also being expected to suit up for work just weeks after delivering a baby. Duh, having a baby is hard but it’s the mental load that is the heaviest to bear. It’s asking for help when you can’t even begin to identify what you need. It’s the mom guilt to want to pursue some self-care routine but not having the heart to separate from your little one. How do we unlock the key to finding more time for ourselves when it just…doesn’t seem possible?

HOW YOU’LL FEEL

SUPPORTED AND GROUNDED WITH MORE TIME TO DEDICATE TO YOURSELF

YOU CAN FINALLY GET THE HELP YOU NEED!

Let’s face it. So much of the invisible labor involves physically accomplishing tasks, such as prepping for a family trip, researching toddler books and toys for their development, booking mommy and me classes,. interviewing childcare options, and so on.

It takes me hours to accomplish the above tasks and I wish someone understood what I wanted and how to get it done.

Partnering with Mikado Postpartum allows us to get our hands dirty (metaphorically, of course) and accomplish these tasks for you so you can have that time back for yourself.
